Water quality sensor – Aquatroll 500
The Aqua TROLL 500 is a fully customisable five-port multiparameter probe, offering capacity for four interchangeable sensors and an antifouling brush. Its smartphone interface ensures accurate data delivery and facilitates calibration, provides a panoramic view of data and enables reporting. It is ideal for spot checks and profiling applications when used with a Wireless TROLL Com, or for long-term monitoring with VuLink.
The Aqua TROLL 500 gives you the flexibility, reliability and robustness you need for spot checks, remote monitoring, as well as surface water or groundwater monitoring. Its corrosion-resistant titanium construction is designed to withstand the harshest environments, and a handy LCD display showing sensor health and connectivity helps to keep it running smoothly during your deployments.

FAQ
Will the automatic compensation limit my values from 0 to 42, when the sensor is capable of reading from 0 to 350 PSU?
No. Automatic salinity compensation applies to the entire sensor range (up to 350 PSU). As values above 42 PSU have not been defined by the practical salinity scale, compensation is extrapolated on the basis of the 0-42 polynomial curve. As a result of the extrapolation, the accuracy is expected to fall outside the accuracy specification given.
How often should I recalibrate the Aqua TROLL?
The frequency of recalibration depends on the environmental conditions and standard operating procedures of your organisation. The following recommendations can be used as a general guideline. You may need to adjust the frequency according to site conditions and standard operating procedures.
Conductivity sensor
Calibrate when required by user protocol
Conductivity/temperature sensor
Calibrate when required by user protocol
pH sensor
Calibrate every 10 to 12 weeks or as required by user protocol
ORP sensor
Calibrate every 10 to 12 weeks or as required by user protocol
RDO sensor
Calibration every 12 months or according to user protocol
Temperature sensor
Calibration only when required by user protocol
Turbidity sensor
Calibration only when required by user protocol
Pressure/depth sensor
Calibration only when required by user protocol
Barometer sensor
Calibration only when required by user protocol
Ammonium, chloride and nitrate sensors
Monthly calibration
Chlorophyll a, BGA-PC, BGA-PE and Rhodamine WT sensors
Calibration only when required by user protocol
How do I turn on Bluetooth on Aqua TROLL?
If you are using an Aqua TROLL 500, connect the instrument to a power source such as a Wireless TROLL Com.
What parameters can be monitored with Aqua TROLL?
Up to 4 of the following parameters can be measured using separate sensors inserted in the AquaTroll 500 chamber
- Conductivity
- Acidity (pH)
- Dissolved oxygen (optical)
- Temperature
- Turbidity
- Water level
- Ammonium, Chloride, Nitrate
- Chlorophyll A, Blue-green algae, Rhodamine WT
