CDG Express Airport shuttle
project
Declared a project of major public interest since 2008, the Charles-De-Gaulle Express line will serve the main airport in Paris : the Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
It will relieve existing traffic (RER B and motorways) in order to serve more than 20% of the 76 million annual air passengers at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
challenge
Complementing existing modes of transport, including the use of 75% of existing lanes on its route, the CDG Express will operate near residential areas until it is put into service in 2027. In addition, the many interconnections require the organization of the removal and reinstallation of the RER B tracks.
Communicating and informing residents of possible future nuisances is therefore essential.
Need: monitor sound levels.
Need: display recorded sound levels on an application available to residents.
the UBY Solution
Acoustic monitoring was deployed on site to monitor the noise level of the site 24 hours a day, in real time, and to feed the tool with objective data. Located in an area with several operational transport networks, our system made it possible to easily establish a correlation between construction site noise and the origin of perceived noise pollution.
As a result, the project is better accepted, reducing the number of complaints and appeasing relations with the operational team.
