Hong Kong Central Kowloon Route
Project
The Central Tunnel Contract is a crucial element of the CKR. The project involves the construction of several tunnels and associated works.
The tunnels represent the most important works. One is a 2 x 3 lane tunnel approximately 2.8 km long between Yau Ma Tei and Ma Tau Kok. The other tunnel project involves the construction of two cut-and-cover tunnels linking the Yau Ma Tei access shaft and the Ma Tau Kok access shaft.

challenge
To ensure optimum safety, the customer, Highways Department, wants to set up a real-time monitoring system with the following information:
- Current staff count
- Daily staff peak
- Daily total number of workers on site
- Monthly count of restricted area entries over time
- Alert for entering a restricted area over time
Uby Solution
UBY provides the Wirepas mesh system to detect workers with an accuracy of 5 metres in confined spaces in order to provide relevant information to the safety and project team in the event of safety problems (uncertified workers, people in restricted areas).
Thanks to the site plans and the different levels integrated into the UBY Safe platform, they can supervise the workforce in real time and be quickly informed in the event of a safety problem on site.
Alerts are triggered in the UBY Safe platform and sent by email to the safety team.

Benefits for the operation
Indicators of the presence of the various types of operator on the site (duration, co-presence, traffic, etc.) help to optimise the distribution and reduce the risks associated with underground operations.
